Gustavo J. Losa, Esq.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida,  from parents who immigrated from Cuba in 1960.  He attended Florida International University and graduated with a Degree in Political Science in 1998 and received his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2004. During his time at St. Thomas University, he was Secretary of the Student Bar Association and Secretary of the International Moot Court Board. He also competed in the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Competition.

Early in his career he worked as a Legislative Aide for Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, for the 27th Congressional District of Florida. His prior experience includes working in high-volume litigation practices.  He worked for four years at MSP Recovery Law Firm, focusing on recovery of Medicare reimbursements pursuant to the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, leading the mass tort lien resolution team,  during which he spearheaded the recovery of approximately $2,000,000.00 for his clients.  His experience as a transactional and litigation attorney provide a unique and balanced perspective to the Firm.  He is intimately familiar with multi-district court litigation having experience with some of the largest mass tort cases to date, including the ACTOS Litigation against Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Among his experience he has testified as an expert witness  in attorneys’ fees before the Courts of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Professional Experience

Mr. Losa was adjunct professor, teaching Insurance and Risk Management at Millenia Atlantic University.

He worked as an advocate against large corporations, specifically large pharmaceutical and medical devices companies, who through their actions have harmed the public.

Mr. Losa is currently the administrative attorney heading up legal operations and special projects  for the Downs Law Group.

Mr. Losa is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and has practiced in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

During his spare time, Mr. Losa enjoys traveling, reading, soccer, watching Formula 1 racing, history and being involved with his church.
