John Paul Brophy Esq.

John Paul Brophy is an attorney at The Downs Law Group in Coconut Grove, Florida. He attended the University of Miami School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree cum laude in 2024. In 2026, John was recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America attorney. 

While in law school, John Paul worked as a law clerk at The Downs Law Group for two years. After graduating and passing the Florida Bar, he transitioned to an associate attorney position. During law school, he honed his research and writing skills by participating in the Business Law Review, on which he held two executive board positions: Senior Notes and Comments Editor and Articles and Comments Editor. He also appeared on the Dean’s list in law school for his academic performance and was the recipient of two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest score in his Evidence and Legislation classes. In addition, he took part in the Judicial Intern Academy.
