Paul Hankin is an associate attorney at the Downs Law Group in the firm’s Miami office and focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, probate and estate litigation, tax controversy and litigation, real estate litigation, business torts, defamation, breach of contract, fraudulent transfer claims, and intellectual property litigation. Prior to joining the Downs Law Group, Paul started his career at one of the world’s leading organizations of independent audit, tax, and advisory by providing various tax consulting and advising services, which later included commercial litigation, probate and estate litigation, and conflict resolution. As a result, he developed unique skills and experience whereby he can handle diverse and complex matters.
Paul was born and raised in Miami, Florida where he graduated from Florida International University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Minor in Economics. Paul earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, cum laude, in 2015, where he was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board where he competed in various competitions, served as a judicial intern in the Probate Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida to the Honorable Judge Maria M. Korvick in 2015, and obtained certificates in both tax law and elder law. Paul later went on to earn his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College Law, where he also served as a Graduate Tax Student Editor for the Florida Tax Review.
Outside of his career, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, working out, playing and watching sports, participating in outdoor activities, and staying active in the community, including his Greek church.
